Suez Canal

Just a quickie to let you know we are successfully in the Med.  We got spat out this afternoon.  What a relief, and are finally on our way to Israel. Should be comfortably in a Marina there tomorrow evening.  Lots of boats here!!!  Masses of fishing boats which are very rare in the Red Sea.

Had a good time in Cairo.  Although hated the city and people tried to cheat us everywhere.  "Camel ride, five pounds" we had a brilliant time at the pyramids and the Museum which was just fantastic.  Fairly poorly labeled and laid out but the stuff in there will knock your socks off, especially the mummie room (Ramses II) and Tutenkamen's stuff.  We all drooled in there for six straight hours.  Although Neill unfortunately spent some of his time in the toilet.  Anyhow, Suez was OK, and the canal transit was a piece of cake - two days, two pilots and both of them were great.  We got very lucky.

More later - love from all - Sarah
