Here are some cut and pasties from actual emails
to and from our expensive agent in the Maldives concerning a package that
got "lost" in Male and he assured us that he could forward on to meet us
at our next stop, Aden.

I replied that I didn't understand. He said that he

phoned them, what was wrong?

I then flamed him, but local style. Said we were
very disappointed, did what he suggested and now it was not possible to
get the mail. OK, we gave up, just send it back to USA and they can send
it again.

So that is that. I am still waiting for one more
response just to confirm that the Post Officer has sent it back to USA. A
real cultural adventure.
As you can understand, mail is very big in our
lives. Email helps, but lots of people don't use it and we really look
forward to our mail drops.
